Level Up Your Holiday With These Christmas-themed Beers

We are firm believers in doing it big on Christmas, and that same energy goes for what we drink. We rounded up some of our favorite festive beers with the perfect pairings for your holiday meals this season. You can find all the beverages listed at local liquor stores around the CSRA.

Budweiser

There’s nothing like a classic American-style lager in a festive can.

Perfect Pairings: Aged cheese, creme brûlée, or cheesecake

New Belgium Accumulation White IPA

This rebel beer was brewed as a revolt against the tradition of dark beers in the winter. This white IPA inspired by snowy winters features a tropical aroma, citrus, mango, and lemon flavors with a bitter bite.

Perfect Pairings: Soft, creamy cheeses, fish, or chicken

Breckenridge Christmas Ale

Expect flavors of caramel and chocolate from roasted malts, balanced with spices. Plus how cute are these mini-kegs? Perfect for any small get-together you’re hosting this season.

Perfect Pairings: Turkey, holiday desserts, or blue cheese

Thinking about making Pork Chops for a holiday dinner? Breckenridge created a delicious pork chop sauce using their Christmas Ale:

1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
15 oz. tomato sauce
2 cups Breckenridge Brew Christmas Ale
2 tbsp vinegar
4 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp celery seed
1 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 dash liquid hot pepper seasoning

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently. Sear your pork chops on the grill, about 4 minutes each side. Baste the chops liberally with sauce and return to grill. Over low heat, cook chops 15-20 minutes or until done, turning every five minutes, basting with sauce before each turn.

Prairie Ale Christmas Bomb

Aged on espresso beans, vanilla beans, and chocolate, this Prairie Ale imperial stout features chili pepper and other Christmas spices that bring an exciting finish.

Perfect Pairings: Brie, blackened Ribeye, porterhouse steak, garlic butter, or truffle fries

Southern Tier 2XMAS Ale

Spiced double ale with figs, orange peel, ginger root, and spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves.

Perfect Pairings: Blue cheese, sausages, holiday cookies, or fish

Bud Light Seltzers – Ugly Sweater Pack

Not a beer person? Crack open a Christmas seltzer. They even have holiday sweaters on! The featured flavors are Cranberry, Apple Crisp, Ginger Snap, and Peppermint Pattie.
